Our company is seeking an experienced, timely, and highly motivated Rear Load CDL Truck Driver. A CDL driver is responsible for safely operating a front-, side-, or rear-loading truck, and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers who reside on a designated route. In addition, a truck driver is responsible for ensuring his or her vehicle is in compliance with our safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all company, state, and federal regulations are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle, and completes vehicle condition reports on a daily basis to ensure that any vehicle defects are repaired in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the United States
Must possess a valid Class B CDL OR Higher with airbrakes endorsement for the state of Virginia (2yrs +)
Must have at least 1 year prior rear load waste industry experience.
Required Education
High school or equivalent
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds
Repetitive mounting and dismounting from the vehicle
Key Responsibilities
Properly and completely fill out paperwork to include Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) and turn it in to dispatch daily with all weigh tickets.
Use only designated disposal sites.
Attend weekly safety meetings and apply concepts to ensure a safe workplace for self and others.
Properly perform pre-trip and post-trip maintenance checks on all assigned equipment.
Operate a Rear-load truck according to the company’s work schedule so that excellent Residential service is safely provided to customers.
Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers, and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely manner.
Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies.
Follow all required safety policies and procedures.

Position Summary
A Residential Garbage Helper is responsible for safely providing prompt, courteous and complete removal of Waste and/or Recyclable materials for customers who reside on a designated route. In addition, a Helper is responsible for assisting Route Drivers with all critical driving and backing maneuvers. Including, ensuring his or her vehicle is in compliance with the Company’s safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all Company, state and federal regulations are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle.
Qualifications
MUST be at least 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the United States
MUST possess a valid DMV issued Driver’s License.
MUST have at least 6-months of relevant work experience.
Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, and criminal history.

Requires to exert physical effort; pushing, pulling, bending, handling, and lifting objects up to 100-150 lbs. frequently.
Physically able to work 8 to 12+ hours in extreme weather conditions. (heat, cold, rain and snow).

Key Responsibilities
Works in accordance with Champion Services Inc. and Life Critical Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws.
Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service related issues to Route Manager or Dispatch. Including accidents, injuries, property damage etc.
Manually or mechanically load and empty residential and/or commercial containers into truck.
Operates hoisting device to lift and empty bins or containers into truck hopper.
Assists driver with all backing maneuvers while on route.
Notifies Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service or potential safety hazards.
Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch and assisting other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
